Weezy enters in rehab

We hearing from a number of different sources that rapper Lil Wayne checked himself into a Florida drug rehab over the weekend.
Right now no one seems to be talking about it.
But more evidence is coming forward. For example, yesterday the rapper missed a mandatory court appearance in Arizona His lawyer told the judge that it was because of an "undisclosed medical procedure.

Cam'ron is ready to Back

Looks like Pretty in Pink rapper Cam’Ron is planning that come back. Calling in to Dipset Radio, Cam explained that he would be back on the charts in late fall, November to be exact with his next project Crime Pays. This will be the follow up to Killa Season, the album which didn’t even hit gold status when it was released in May 2006. Crime Pays however which will be released through SRC will be at press time void of Jim Jones and Juelz Santana who Cam’Ron has publicly had issues with over the last year.

He recently sold Juelz Santana’s project to Def Jam for two million dollars, allowing the Harlem MC the chance to start releasing music on his own again. It is expected that Akon and Dipset member Hell Rell will be on Crime Pays when it hits shelves in November.

L.A.X review

The New York TimesOn L.A.X., his third album, for the first time he’s a joyless name checker; it’s as if the letters of his album title were all in lowercase. Almost everything here, from the boasting (“Money”) to the baiting (“L.A.X. Files,” “Cali Sunshine”), is pro forma. Worse, the Game, never a fluid rapper, sounds positively lumpy, as if he were delivering verses while running up a steep flight of stairs, or as if the last few years of pugnacity have finally left him winded.

Los Angels TimesThe Compton-raised rapper’s conservative inclination to stick to the gangsta tropes of money, drugs and guns feels limiting at times, as does the album’s bloated 1-hour-and-16-minute running time. While L.A.X.boasts several tracks too many, few remain outright duds, with the album heavily boosted by The Game’s all-star squad of guest performers.

The Boston GlobeL.A.X. spins beautifully at first, but, like a ‘64 Chevy with chrome rims that hasn’t paid a visit to the mechanic in 20 years, it doesn’t take long before the wheels come off entirely.

Newsday: When The Game is on—in the mournful “My Life” with Lil Wayne, where he says, “My life used to be empty like a Glock without a round,” and in the old-school tribute to civil-rights leaders “Letter to the King,” in which he’s smart enough to let Nas shine as well—he proves himself to be one of hip-hop’s best.

Non sarà un Classico,ma è un buon Cd

The Game performing in support of third album with many friends

West Coast rapper The Game performed in New York City last night bringing out a handful of surprise guests including former G-Unit cohort Young Buck, while publicly ending his four-year feud with another rap rival.Performing at Irving Plaza in downtown Manhattan for his new album L.A.X,the former Aftermath artist appeased the crowd by unveiling a steady stream of hometown favorites. According Miss Info TV. Fat JoeJim JonesTrife da GodKool Herc, and Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon and Ghostface Killah were among the guest.

Despite the anti-G-Unit collabo, the Kodak moment of the night came when The Game performed alongside Joe Budden as he did his ’03 anthem “Pump It Up".The two emcees were once combatants in a bitter beef that was sparked by a 2004 diss Budden aimed at G-Unit.
During the public truce, Joe extended his hand, which Game accepted and the two claimed their action was a form of “real hip-hop.”
In related news, Game’s third album L.A.X. hit stores yesterday (August 26).

T.I. is the number one

Platinum selling rapper T.I. has made Billboard history, with his latest single “Whatever You Want,” by jumping 70 spots to reach the No. 1 chart in just three weeks.

According to
Billboard, the hit song off T.I.'s upcoming album Paper Trail has jumped from its debut at No. 71 on the Hot 100 chart to the top position in record time. Tip’s accomplishment surpasses rock band Maroon 5’s song “Makes Me Wonder,” which went from No. 64 to No. 1 in May 2007.

The achievement also marks the Grand Hustle artist’s first ever No. 1 single and his opening-week digital total (205,000 downloads) is reportedly the best from a hip-hop song since
Nielsen SoundScan began gathering download data in ’03.

The Young Berg's story:Part 1 & Part 2

PART 1:Yung Berg and his brother/artist Cap 1 were reportedly beaten up and robbed this weekend in Detroit at a local nightclub. There are also pictures that have surfaced with an unknown assailant wearing his well known “Transformers” chain. He was in town for Hot 102.7’s annual Summer Jamz concert. This may be the cue he was looking for to actually become more “under the radar” instead of continuing the media tirade he has been on for the last couple of weeks.

PART 2:Trick Trick, the Detroit rapper and co-owner of Plan B Nightclub is maintaining that the incident involving Yung Berg had nothing to do with him. In his interview with AllHipHop.com, Trick Trick detailed the specifics behind the assault and robbery of Berg. He has been in the center of rumors circulating that he set up the Chicago rapper because of past comment he made about him and the Detroit rap scene.

Dr.Dre's son founds dead

The son of legendary rap producer Dr Dre has been found dead at his home in Woodland Hills on Saturday morning.

Andre Young Jr., 20, was unresponsive when his mother went to check on him around 10 A.M., calling 911 to alert paramedics.

Young’s cause of death is pending completion of a toxicology report.

Rest In Peace Andre

88-Keys - Stay Up (Viagra) Ft Kanye West

Last year, Kanye’s Can’t Tell Me Nothing Mixtape featured some of his own material and some quality songs from cohorts like Common, Kweli and 88-Keys. One track was entitled “Stay Up,” and featured a verse from Yeezy and a poem from Malik Yusef. Now, as I said in a recent post, 88 is prepping his debut album, and what seems to be the first single has been dropped - “Stay Up.”

B-Real signs to Duck Down Record

In a continuing effort to expand their talented roster of artists, Duck Down Records has just announced a new album deal with B-Real, of Cypress Hill for his first solo album debut, "SMOKE N MIRRORS," in stores January 27th, 2009.

"Smoke N Mirrors" features SNOOP DOGG, DAMIAN MARLEY, BUCKSHOT, SEAN PRICE and SEN DOGG, of Cypress Hill. Production includes tracks from DJ Quik, Fredwreck, Scoop Deville, and B-Real himself for Audio Hustlerz, Inc. B-Real is currently on the ROCK THE BELLS Tour with Nas, Tribe Called Quest, Method Man, Ghostface, Immortal Technique, Kidz In The Hall and more.

B-Real is the latest addition to Duck Down Records, who just recently announced a group project with KRS-ONE & Buckshot, that will be in stores in 2009, along with upcoming projects from DJ Revolution, "King Of The Decks" (September 16th) and a re-united Heltah Skeltah, comprised of Rock and Sean Price, aka Ruck, who, after ten years, are releasing their third album, "D.I.R.T." (Da Incredible Rap Team), on September 30th. Following this project is Sean Price Presents Ruste Juxx "Indestructible" in stores October 28th.

These titles come on the heels of Duck Down's recent success with 9th Wonder & Buckshot's "The Formula" Album, and Kidz In The Hall's album, "The In Crowd," who recently filmed a video for their second single "Love Hangover" featuring Estelle.

Dru Ha, co-owner of Duck Down Records believes; "Adding another living legend in B-Real to our roster is really giving Duck Down a "dream team" line up for independent Hip Hop." Buckshot and I have been strategic with our label partnerships mixing the right blend of emerging artists with proven veterans. When you add the upcoming Random Axe Project (Sean Price, Guilty Simpson and Black Milk collaboration set for a 2009 release) we're excited about our ability to continue contributing quality Hip Hop albums to the game.

The Game begins a new diss?

Game on a potential battle with Jay-Z:
Jay-Z is a subliminal rapper, he uses his words and isolates you like that. I go hard, straight for the jugular, with a knife and I’m cutting your throat and you’re going to bleed all over Manhattan when you beef with me. It’s that serious.

On the existence of a Jay z Diss
There’s no Jay-Z disses, that’s crazy. Haze just hit me while I was asleep, when I woke up before I called you, I seen an e-mail from Haze asking for the Jay-Z diss. I explained to him there will be no Jay-Z diss until Jay-Z disses Game.

The Game Must be on Detox

Seriously the ego has landed. We had Jay Z last week and now the Compton rapper is saying that Dre’s project would be an ‘injustice to the producer if it didn’t feature him (Game). As according to Game himself, he quite simply is..the West Coast. I truly hope for his sake LAX is his best album to date as for all the trash this dude is talking you know people are just waiting in the wings to take aim at him.

Solange is so High

Turns out Beyonce’s lil sister Solange is determined not to be as wholesome as her big sister is. Solange recently recorded a track with Hip-Hop collaborator extraordinaire Lil Wayne for the song ChampagneChroniKnightCap. The song talks about getting drunk and high with a guy and getting her freak on. Solange has insinuated to those who have asked for comment on the song that she only writes about things that she knows about from her own experience.

I wonder just how close to home this experience is as Solange vehemently denied rumors that she was in fact ‘involved’ with Lil Wayne last year and yet here he is on such a track as this.  One thing for sure is those Knowles girls certainly do like their Carter men.
